Our story began in 1971 as a church plant of First Baptist Church, Guelph named Priory Park Christian Centre. A mission extension committee was formed to plant a church which was (at that time) on the outskirts of the city near the university. A portable building was rented from our denomination in June. A VBS was organized in August to attract the community. A Sunday school began at the location immediately after, and the first worship service was held on September 12, 1971. We were renamed to Priory Park Baptist Church in 1974. We officially organized as an independent church (apart from Frist Baptist) in 1975. Our current building was later constructed in 1979 on the same plot of land as the portable, and we have been there serving God in our community ever since.
