Parents
Child Dedication
Parenting is a spiritual practice! God has sent us our children to care for them and create a culture of Gospel-centred living in our homes. Our hope and prayer is that each and every one of our children comes to know Jesus personally for themselves and one day makes a personal commitment to be his disciple. In light of this huge responsibility, we invite parents to formally deciate their children and their parenting to the Lord through a Child Dedication ceremony. This ceremony will take place during a Sunday worship service and involves you, the parents, making public commitments before God and your church family to seek God’s guidance in raising your children.
Depending on the Christian tradition you come from, you may be surprised to see our child dedication does not involve a baptism or water at any point. As Baptists, we do not baptize infants. We believe that baptism should come with an individual’s personal decision to follow Jesus, and so people are typically baptized later in life when they have made that personal decision.
If you would like to dedicate your child to the Lord, please contact the church office.
Equipping Parents for Christian Parenting
Spiritual parenting can be a huge challenge for us all. We want to walk alongside our parents to equip and support them for their lifelong task of parenting.
Intentional equipping for parents is still under development. Sign up for updates to be the first to know about new developments.
